Just Yesterday
Dedicated to: Jessica
by Pushpa Neupane
Just yesterday I was afraid you would break,
But now you're laughing and jumping all over;
Your enthusiasm and energy never ceases to amaze me,
Your smiles and laughs always makes me happy.
Just yesterday I rocked you to sleep;
But now you want to sing and read before bed.
Just yesterday you loved Teletubbies and Barney,
But now it's The Simpsons and The X-Files,
Just yesterday you didn't understand what I said,
But now you argue with what I have to say.
Just yesterday you wanted me to do things for you,
But now you want to do everything yourself.
Your curiosity and questions always gets a smile from me,
Your honesty and your aura of innocence always surprises me.
You are a little angel from the heavens and I am here to guide you.
I am here to help fulfill your goals.
You are my sister and I'll always be here for you.
