The Skateboard Showcase

Rainstorm

she came into my life
as a woman on a train
not in a glorified image
she was soaked to the bone
a rainstorm had just begun

she asked if the seat was taken
i looked up and said sure
i didn't really care for her
just a woman on the train
but i was bored and so was she
so talked about the rainstorm

she said isn't it strange
how it can rain and rain
and we all feel protected
coz we know it will pass away
"but it somehow got through to you"
and still the rainstorm came

powerful and penetrating
is a harmful thing like rain
suddenly it breaks through
it was always there before
like a very special person
that you really care about
and still the rainstorm came

"like love" is what she said next
i wondered what she meant
"it's strong yet it's gentle
and it can work it's way inside.
it's massive and it hits you everywhere"
and we watched the rainstorm fall

clouds began to form within
as we talked about the storm
bigger and bigger it became
and then it rained yet again
and i was soaked to the bone,
from the inside of me this time
began another strong rainstorm
