Verbatim Store ‘n Go Pro
Yeah, we’ve all read about various USB Flash Drives, so what makes one better than another? That depends on what you use your drive for. If you haven’t purchased a flash drive in awhile, you probably have a small capacity unit. Portable Flash Drives are getting to be as important these days as cell phones. In the past you couldn’t find one with much more capacity than 256 MB. When the 1 GB drives came out it was a big step forward. And now Verbatim has combined a large capacity drive with some pretty remarkable - and handy - software. The Verbatim Store ‘n Go Pro comes in several capacities ranging from 256 MG to 4 GB! Grab the 2 or 4 GB and you’re set for a long time.
These drives come with the V-Safe Security software so you can keep your information safe and securely yours. You can create a privacy zone for sensitive information and password protect that zone, and also have a public zone for other data. You can easily log in and out of the privacy zone at your convenience. With an anti-tamper password entry (which disables the drive after 100 failed attempts to crack your password) you won’t wonder who else can get your information - just in case you happen to lose the device.
The V-Key File Synchronization software is also included so if you take your drive to another location and work on your files, you can easily synch up your new versions with those on your main computer. It’s a no-brainer. For instance, if you want to work on a document at home, copy it from your work computer to your Store ‘n Go. Then when you’re home, plug it into your computer and bring up the file. When you return to work, simply plug in the Store ‘n Go and in a flash your files will be synched with the most recent versions. The software is completely customizable, so you can make the unit work for you!
These USB drives are the fastest drives I’ve seen. You can transfer 100 MB to the drive in under seven seconds! The maximum read speed is 23 MG per second and the maximum write speed is 14 MG per second. These little units are lightening fast.
When you plug in your unit, a light will flash, letting you know the drive is ready for use. When you want to unplug your Store ‘n Go, click the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon on the system tray (bottom right, next to your clock) so the computer can stop the unit. Your computer will let you know when it is safe to unplug the device.
The Verbatim Store ‘n Go comes with a lanyard for easy carrying. But this little unit can easily fit into a pocket or purse. It is about the length of your index finger and about half as thick!
The Verbatim Store ‘N Go USB drive comes in a transparent blue case that weighs less than a feather. Each unit has its own serial number and there is a label area (and labels) in case you want to personalize your drive. Without going into the technical details, this unit is a workhorse. It’s fast, small, light weight, and can hold a lot of information.
So, you’re wondering why you would need a USB flash drive if you don’t work at an office. Well, there are countless uses for these drives. You can easily take information from one computer to another. If you want to show someone some photos or share some music, simply put them on the drive and the next time you’re over at your friend’s house, plug it into their computer and voila. Or you want to save some file off of your computer for safe keeping and away from prying eyes. Simply put them on the drive. These little devices are wonderful for sharing information, storage, and with the software included in the Store ‘n Go, you know your data will be safe.
The Store ‘n Go Pro USB 2.0 is compatible with most versions of Windows and Macintosh 9x and higher.
