SoundSticks II Speakers from Harman/Kardon

As we spend more and more time at our computers these days, there are more and more things to do. Besides word processing and retrieving email we can watch DVDs, listen to music and play games. These computers are incredible little things. And when we’re taking advantage of all the things computers can do, it’s only natural to want the best audio and video. As for audio, you cannot beat the great sound from the SoundSticks II speakers. Harmon/Kardon has come up with some amazing speakers that not only sound great, but look great too.

These speakers plug directly into a soundcard or any 3.5 mm audio jack to deliver the best quality sound through the two satellite speakers. There is a subwoofer that sits on the floor and the two satellites can be positioned anywhere around the computer. There is a volume control on the right satellite so turning the sound up or down is right at your fingertips with their special “capacitance touch” buttons. Of course, you can always use the sound controls on your computer too.

The speaker system is visually stunning. Everything is clear plastic, so they don’t stand out like a sore thumb. The space-age design also doesn’t have a large footprint. The satellites look like clear capsules sitting on a little ring. They can be tilted too, making them customizable to your unique listening pleasure.

Check out the speakers you currently have on your computer. Most likely each satellite has two channels (two little speakers). This three- piece multimedia speaker system provides four channels on each satellite, which is only one of the reasons the sound quality is so superb. The satellite “capsules” are a mere two inches wide at the base and stand ten inches tall. But because they are clear, they are almost invisible. And the clear subwoofer resembles a spaceship, with a blue light glowing whenever the power is on.

The system does not require special drivers so they are truly plug and play, which makes them all the more attractive. And, they can be used with your other audio devices as well, like a walkman, discman, or mp3 player. If there is a 3.5 mm jack, then simply plug in the system and you’re ready to hear high quality sound from these magnetically shielded speakers.

While many people can’t really distinguish between good speakers and bad ones, except when they crackle or pop, there are those who can really tell when a speaker provides great sound. For those of you, you have to listen to the remarkable clarity that these speakers provide. And the fact that they are four channels is bonus.

So, whether you’re a gamer, listen to music, watch video or simply want to hear everything clearly, this three-piece system is worth checking out. And they look fabulous. They list for $169.95, but look around. There are some great deals on the web.
