Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub from Belkin
As technology advances and there are more and more products to add to our computers to get the most out of the computing age, we all discover the benefits of using USB devices. A USB printer and a USB scanner are much faster to run, and with USB hubs you can connect the printer or any device into a hub on one end of your desk and not have to worry about running all your cords directly to your computer.
USB 2.0 is the newest and fastest way to transport information from one peripheral to another. And, since we have so many different devices (cameras, scanners, printers, speakers, keyboards, mice, and others) that use the convenient USB ports, most of us run out of room on our computers. So, the only option is to add a hub.
Belkin’s new 7-port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub is self-powered (meaning it has its own power supply) and can accommodate up to 7 different peripherals. Just plug the power supply into an electrical outlet, plug the hub into a USB port on your computer, and you’re ready to go. Windows should automatically detect the unit and install the needed device drivers to run the hub. The hub, although designed for hi-speed USB 2.0 products, can also run USB 1.1 devices. The speed won’t be as fast, but the convenience is still the same.
The hub has 5 ports on the back and two on the top. Most of us are finding the convenience of using the small flash drives for storing and transporting information. They’re about the size of a pack of chewing gum and are the easiest way to take data from one place to another. The two ports on the top of the Belkin hub are specifically designed for plugging in the flash drives. They just stick straight into the ports and are ready to use. Or, plug in the receiver for a wireless mouse. The convenience of the top ports allows easy access to the hub. The LED lights let you monitor the ports, and the entire hub measures 5 ½ inches wide by 4 inches deep, taking up a very small footprint on your desk.
The great thing about this new hub is you can add an additional one that fits over the top and brings the total USB ports to 14. Think of all the devices you can plug into that! And, take it from me, you might not have than many things to plug in today, but you will soon. Most devices these days utilize USB 2.0. And with a hub – or two – you won’t have to worry about finding a port on your computer or even running all the cords across your desk.
Anyone into computing these days knows the benefits of USB 2.0 devices. And, with all the devices out there these days, a hub is the most convenient way to get the most out of all your devices. Belkin puts all your peripherals at your fingertips with this new convenient 7-port hub.
