Time-n-Measures
from QM Labs
It's not often I find a program that's fun as well as useful. I don't play games on my computer. I don't have the time for that. But I have spent a lot of time recently "playing" with Time-n-Measures. It's fun!
This program keeps track of time all around the world. And you can view the time in different ways. There's an analog clock and a digital counter. There is also the option to view the world in a day/night mode. In this mode, you can see which parts of the planet are experiencing daylight and which are shadowed in night. And a list of Selected Cities enables the immediate view of the information about specific cities.

There are controls to zoom in on specific areas of the world as well as auto-rotate the map. It's like watching a spinning globe. Use your mouse to locate the longitude and latitude of specific areas.

That's the "Time" part of the software. The "Measures" part is the icing on the cake. Did someone say conversion? This isn't an actual conversion chart where you look up different units of measurement. It's better. All you do is type in a unit of measurement and the corresponding unit is displayed. For temperature there is Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Kelvin. For weight, convert English ounces and pounds to Metric Micrograms, Milligrams, Grams, Kilograms, and English Short Tons to Metric Tons. And Vice Versa! For volume, convert teaspoons, tablespoons, ounces, cups, quarts, gallons, cubic feet, microliters, milliliters, centiliters, liters, and cubic meters. Converting Metric meters to English inches, feet, yards, and acres is a breeze. Finding velocity and linear distance no longer requires a PhD! The interesting part about these conversion tables is that you do not have to type in every unit. For example, in the "volume" section I entered "68" in the liter box then clicked on "conversion." This is what I got.
ALL units are converted so if you ever get asked how many inches are in a square mile, with a few clicks of your mouse, you will discover there are 1,296.00000 square inches in one square mile. It may not sound important right now, but some day . . .
Time-n-Measures is a fun and useful program. Did I mention there is also a calculator? This software has a lot of uses. And the best part is it's EASY!
Time-n-Measures sells for $38.95 (plus S&H) or $34.95 for Internet download. You can also download a 10-day trial. For more information click here.
