Fashionistas are in heaven with this great website which offers them a way to update their wardrobe, share fashion tips, and simplify their clothing options. Sometimes the internet can really be a friend, and in this case it surely is.
Closet Couture is a free service where members can create their own virtual closets by taking photos of their clothes and uploading them to the website, or by selecting similar articles from the website and transferring them to their virtual closet. Then they can share their closets with friends as well as professionals who can offer suggestions about teaming certain items together or by simply letting them know that what they have is out-of-date.
Another way Closet Couture helps busy people is by letting them create their personal calendar where they can make notes on which outfits they wore on certain days, so they can be sure not to wear the same thing twice to an occasion. While this might be superfluous for many people, for some wearing the same outfit to meet a client is something they want to avoid.
For those who have fashion questions, asking for help or guidance is part of this site. There are plenty of personal assistants who can answer your questions, from whether you should wear panty hose to your staff meeting or go bare legged, to whether your paisley scarf is over-the-top with your simple pantsuit for your blind date. Okay, so these might not be your specific questions, but you get the idea. The way we look and present ourselves says a lot about us. Closet Couture is the creation of Christine Elia who says it is “for those of us obsessed with all things fashion, it is truly a closet dream come true.” She adds, “I can easily find the next big band or artist online and that got me thinking, why isn’t there a similar venue for designers?” It is a way to manage your wardrobe, hire a personal shopper, purchase items, and just communicate with other members.
Once you sign on you can invite others to look at your virtual closet, play with your selections, add items from other people’s virtual closets to see if they’re something you can use, manage your wardrobe, hire a stylist, learn about the latest trends, and even give your own advice and opinions on other people’s wardrobe.
The site is free to join, however there are additional features for which you will pay. If you want a personal assistant to help create a single outfit, the cost is $25. For a professional assistant who will help you select a wardrobe for a vacation, the cost is $300. And for a complete wardrobe overhaul the cost is $1,000.
