A Slice of Life

Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End

With the age of piracy nearing an end, it is up to the pirate captains to save their fate. And among the new captains is Elizabeth Swann. All the old characters return in this third installment that, quite frankly, doesn’t live up to the original film. It is long (about 2 hours 45 minutes) and also a bit confusing as audience members need a score card to keep track of everyone and what they did in the past. If you’re a die-hard Pirates fan you will probably love this film. Otherwise, you might find it confusing and more flash than content.

The special effects are incredible, making this a true E-Ticket ride. It’s got more heart pounding zip than the ride from which this series was taken.

All the old characters return for this film, however, the one character who steals every scene is – the monkey! Conniving, treachery, evil and hope all come together in this story of pirates, history, love and the future. What lies in store for these characters in this film that takes them from the world of the dead to the world of the living is a rocky ride. Fasten your seat belts. This is a true action adventure filled with sci-fi fantasy that will have Pirates fans enjoying every minute.

Unfortunately, if you are not up to date on all the pirate history from the other films, you might feel like a fish out of water as you definitely do need to know what happened in the past in order to enjoy this story. This is not a stand-alone movie.
