A Slice of Life
by Francine Brokaw
Agent Cody Banks
Every kid's fantasy is being a secret agent. For Banks, Cody Banks, this is more than a fantasy. The CIA recruited this boy from one of their "summer camps" and now he is going on his first mission.
But what can a teenage boy do? After all, who's going to take him seriously? But the CIA invested $10 million on training this kid, and they intend on making use of their investment. So Cody is sent to a different school where his assignment is to blend in and gain the trust and friendship of a girl who's father happens to be a brilliant scientist. His new invention could be the downfall of democracy if it fell into the wrong hands.
Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle and Big Fat Liar) stars as Cody, and Angie Harmon stars as his no-nonsense CIA handler. The film is a fun way kids can live out their own fantasies. It's like a junior James Bond film, complete with fancy gadgets (Q would be proud) and interesting sets. Some of the gadgets would even make Bond jealous! So, for all the kids out there who watch 007 and dream of following in his footsteps, they now have a character their own age. Agent Cody Banks is on the job!
The movie is strictly for kids. It is rated PG for action violence, mild language and some sensual content. It runs about 95 minutes.
